dawn sutherland fine art

The photo above is the workstation in my studio.  The palette is tempered glass with my usual array of paint across the top and a few extra blobs on the side.  In addition are palette knife for mixing colors, paper towels, brushes, brush cleaner in the can, liquin medium for thinning paint, and brush soap in the little round container.  Not included in the photo is a supply of dark chocolate and a cup of coffee.

The painting is a scene from the North Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon, just above Roaring Springs.  It’s in the early stages and you’ll see changes along the way.  Watch for a trail and a switchback coming soon.

During the month of January, the Sedona Arts Center is featuring artists who were juried into the Members’ Gallery during the last year.  I’ll be there for Artwalk Jan. 8th.  I have three pieces in the show, two are from the Grand Canyon.  I’d be delighted to see you there.
