Take a Hike-Blackett's Ridge

Our trail starts at the corner of the Sabino Canyon parking lot. We'll be hiking to the top of what appears to be that mound ahead.
One can take an hourly tram to a closer point on the trail, but we'll hike all the way in.
And soon the trail starts to climb.
After about 3/4 mile, we'll reach the junction of the Phoneline Trail and Blackett's Ridge.
And up we go!
It's fun to watch Tucson recede as the trail takes us upward.
Checking back to make sure Stan is still there.

The day is warming up, so we'll stop here for a snack and water.
There are three "false summits". Just when you think you're looking at trail's end, you find out there's more.
The trail levels out for some distance with a view toward the southeast and a peek at the Rincon Mountains.
Another false summit, but the views are getting more dramatic.
One more push upward--
--and we've arrived. But wait, there's more. We can hike beyond this point to a cool little promontory.
Find a comfortable rock where you can enjoy your lunch and take in the views.
Take a little nap after lunch, then enjoy the hike back to the parking lot. It's all downhill from here!
