My gear on the edge of Grand Canyon's South Rim at a favorite and just-a-little-precarious spot to paint. Twenty years ago I would never have dreamed I'd be standing, much less painting, in such a place. I went back to my car to retrieve the coffee I'd left behind. Nirvana for me is to be set up to paint with my mug of coffee and a granola bar at sunrise. Walking back through the tunnel of junipers and oak, I observed my gear there without a painter and rather liked the scene. Here is it--a painting of a painting as close to the edge of the Canyon as anyone would care to be.
